This is a wonderfully written story on the fun and humorous events that often occur while squirrel and duck hawking. While reading it I found myself able to picture all the events unfold as if I had an actual memory of the exact situation. Mr. Filkins describes an unforgettable day of hawking where a bird gets her first "hat trick" of squirrels and some Harris hawks get a chance to fly at a couple of ducks causing both of the handlers to get completely soaked TRYING to assist. Very good story. I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in falconry, any bird-lover, or anyone just interested in a good action-packed story.

This is a great short story about a not so typical day of falconry with a Master Falconer and his apprentice.
